Summer is quickly approaching, and with that comes another year of Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) benefits.
SUN Bucks provides $120 per eligible child to help qualifying families purchase healthy meals during the summer months.
Some families will automatically receive benefits, while others may need to apply directly through the Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS).
Important Information:
- Eligible children ages 6–18 may qualify
- Families receive $120 per eligible child
- Benefits begin issuing the week of June 7, 2026
- Families with existing EBT/SUN Bucks cards will have benefits loaded onto their current card
- Families without a card will receive one by mail
